Executive Team

Dermod (Trip) Ives, III, Founder / Chief Operations Officer, is listed with the CFTC as a registered brokerage firm principal, series 3 licensed broker, branch office manager, commodity trading advisor principal, and commodity pool operator principal. He has extensive trading and portfolio management experience in the commodity and financial futures industry as well as Fortune 50 senior management experience in computer application development and system integration. In 2004 Mr. Ives, formed the niche commodity brokerage firm, Madison, Monroe & Whitaker Investment Services catering to the needs of individual investors. While at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Mr. Ives held a management position with LFG and later Refco (both predecessors to MF Global), at that time the world’s largest non-bank clearing firm. Mr. Ives developed and implemented a portfolio trading program which ultimately managed $1 billion in leveraged assets. He worked within both domestic and international markets, managed the daily trading activities of an international desk and provided wealth management services to hundreds of clients. Mr. Ives’ experience in the financial industry is augmented by his career as a Senior IT Manager with PepsiCo where he managed multiple teams totaling 50+ developers and system-architects and was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of large-scale computer applications. Mr. Ives graduated from Fort Lewis College Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Business Administration and BA in Computer Science and Information Systems and received an MBA from Colorado State University.

William F. Greenwood, Managing Partner / Chief Trading Officer, is an accomplished and well respected financial industry executive with over 23 years of experience and a successful record of trading, portfolio management, and business development. Mr. Greenwood has extensive experience in fixed income and futures markets, global treasury management, private equity and business start-ups. Mr. Greenwood was recruited by The Carlyle Group in 2006 as part of a management team to provide leadership in the development and implementation of a permanent capital vehicle where he served as a Managing Director. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Greenwood served as First Vice President in the Global Treasury Department of Merrill Lynch where he was portfolio manager for the firm’s $40 billion liquidity and collateral portfolios. He worked closely with the global funding team in managing the risk of the firm’s $100 billion debt portfolio. Mr. Greenwood served on Merrill’s Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO). Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1999, Mr. Greenwood served as a Vice President and U.S. Government bond trader at NationsBank, (predecessor to Bank of America). Mr. Greenwood started his career at Chemical Bank, predecessor to JPM Chase in the U.S. Government and Agency bond department as a trader. He is a graduate of Fairfield University with a BA in Economics and received an MBA from Northeastern University. Mr. Greenwood currently serves as Chief Trading Officer for the fund.

Patrick Trozzo, Managing Partner / Chief Risk Officer, brings to Meridian over 25 years of trading, risk management and financial management experience. During this period Mr. Trozzo has extensively traded global futures markets. Prior to joining Meridian Mr. Trozzo was a Managing Director for The Carlyle Group where he provided leadership in the establishment of a permanent capital vehicle and specialized in portfolio risk management and treasury management. Prior to working with Carlyle Mr. Trozzo was a consultant for Cerberus Capital Management, LP where he worked on private equity deals specializing in financial services including the deal structuring for the attempted purchase of Refco and the eventual acquisition of GMAC. From 2000 to 2005 Mr. Trozzo worked as a portfolio manager in alternative investments in the fixed income and foreign exchange markets for Cape Capital Management, a firm he co-founded and which ultimately managed $800 million in assets for a large U.S. corporate pension fund. Prior to founding Cape Capital Mr. Trozzo spent most of his career as a head of trading and market risk management in the fixed income and foreign currency derivatives markets for firms such as Deutsche Bank and Security Pacific. Mr. Trozzo has been a primary architect of a number of business start-ups most notably for The Carlyle Group, West LB and Daichi Kangyo Bank. Mr. Trozzo received his MBA from New York University. He received a BBA from Pace University.
